Lushly ripe grapes and lengthy oak aging combine for yummy full-bodied wines

*9W* 2021 Valravn Chardonnay (Sonoma County, CA)

This is a powerful, floral, stony, briny white. Aged in 100% French oak with full spontaneous malolactic fermentation, it toes the line between high-toned freshness and richness. Notes of quince, Meyer lemon, and tart apple are complemented by toasted hazelnut and marzipan flavors. The oak is present but subtle, ultimately lending toward the overall balance of the wine.

    About The Varietal

    Chardonnay

Chardonnay, possibly the most famous among white grape varieties, is frequently regarded as reaching its peak expression in its Burgundian birthplace. However, this grape has journeyed across the globe, and Chardonnay wines, ranging from outstanding to less inspiring, can now be discovered in various wine-producing regions worldwide.

    About The Producer

    Valravn

Valravn Winery represents an investigation into Sonoma County, centered in the Russian River Valley. Established by Baron Zeigler, the creator of Banshee Wines, and led by AAPI winemaker Rob Fischer, these wines originate from vineyards cultivated sustainably, spanning from Annapolis in the north to the Petaluma Gap in the south.
