*6W* 2022 Timo Mayer Chardonnay (Yarra Valley, AU)

Vibrantly fresh and quirky, it opens with scents of flint and gun smoke before unveiling citrus and tropical fruit notes. The full-textured palate finds an exquisite equilibrium with lively acidity, resulting in excellent endurance.

    About The Varietal

    Chardonnay

Chardonnay, possibly the most famous among white grape varieties, is frequently regarded as reaching its peak expression in its Burgundian birthplace. However, this grape has journeyed across the globe, and Chardonnay wines, ranging from outstanding to less inspiring, can now be discovered in various wine-producing regions worldwide.

    About The Producer

    Timo Mayer

Timo Mayer is a hip little winery “bringing back the funk” in the Yarra Valley of Australia. Timo grew up in Germany, where his family had been making wine for over 400 years. Upon arriving to Australia, Timo and his wife, Rhonda, planted their vineyard on a slope they named Bloody Hill, “because it was bloody steep!” Originally receiving acclaim for his innovate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, Timo has started experimenting with varieties like Nebbiolo and Gamay, all through natural winemaking processes, to reflect the true expression of the Yarra Valley.
