In this exquisite blend, 90% Prugnolo Gentile, the esteemed local clone of Sangiovese, is united with 10% Merlot, resulting in a wine of unparalleled elegance. Racy strawberries, cherries, and plums dance on the nose, accented by hints of baking spice, tea leaf, and bark. On the palate, creamy tannins and medium acidity create a medium-bodied Vino Nobile that is both fresh and supple, leaving a lasting impression of Tuscan terroir and winemaking mastery.
About The Varietal
At times known as Sangiovese Grosso, Prugnolo Gentile is a grape variety cultivated in the town of Montepulciano, Tuscany. A clone of the Sangiovese grape, it is thought to be indigenous to this region, sharing similar characteristics with Sangiovese.
Enjoy with braised or game meats or herb heavy eggplant.
