Hailing from the "Campi Taurasini DOC," a sub-region within Irpinia DOC, this wine is crafted from Aglianico grapes that faithfully capture the distinctive flavors of their homeland. Its appearance boasts a ruby hue with hints of purple, while the bouquet is an intricate blend of ripe cherries and blackberries. On the palate, it offers a refreshing and velvety experience, leaving behind a lingering finish. After aging for 12 months, this is perfectly ready to be savored, yet it also possesses the potential for further bottle aging, promising an extended maturation period.
About The Varietal
Aglianico is a red wine grape believed to originate in southern Italy. It gives rise to robust red wines characterized by musky berry notes, strong tannins, and the ability to age well. Notable appellations that make use of this grape include Taurasi in Campania and Aglianico del Vulture in Basilicata.
Enjoy with braised or game meats or herb heavy eggplant.
