*4R* 2021 Eraldo Revelli "San Matteo" Dogliani Superiore (Piedmont, Italy)

Eraldo and his daughter Claudia are located at 450 meters above sea level. Their vineyards enjoy a microclimate of great temperature variation and sea breezes from the Ligurain coast. As second- and third-generation winemakers, they take the Dolcetto grape seriously, and they produce very good wines. The division of labor on the Revellis' farm consists of Eraldo focusing on the vineyards and Claudia devoting her energies to the cellar.

This astounding wine is an expression of the Revelli’s best southwest-facing vineyards, whose vines average forty years of age. The Dolcetto grape characteristic is unmistakable with its lively, purple hue and alluring berry and anise aromas. The palate is full of bright cherry fruit, hints of almonds, and sweet spices with a whiff of cocoa on the finish. The wine's chewy tannins and vibrant acidity make it an impeccable candidate for flavorful meats, aged cheeses, and earthy/roasted vegetables.
