While many winegrowers typically serve Blanc de Noirs towards the end of their Champagne tastings, Dosnon's winemaker chooses to present it earlier in the lineup. This is because Pinot Noir grown on Kimmeridgian soils offers delicacy, intricate details, and a pronounced mineral character.

The Récolte Noire exemplifies qualities showcasing a toasty and elegant fruitiness that evokes the freshness of raspberries or strawberries. The refined fruitiness in Dosnon's wines come from the fermentation of the base wine in used Puligny-Montrachet barrels, a practice adopted from the winemakers training in Burgundy.
