Warmer growing regions, fully ripened grapes, extended barrel-aging add to the wine’s body

*6R* 2021 Rostaing "Ampodium" Cote Rotie (Rhone Valley, FR)

Rene Rostaing emerges as a genuine cult figure in Côte-Rôtie, and the 2021 "Ampodium" is impressively reliable, possibly reaching outstanding levels. Displaying a robust ruby/purple hue, it presents abundant red and black fruit flavors, complemented by hints of spring flowers, forest nuances, and pepper. With an excellent balance of elegance and purity, this wine is poised to be enjoyable from the outset.

    About The Varietal

    Syrah

Shiraz and Syrah are interchangeable names for the same dark-skinned grape variety when viewed in terms of DNA. Originating in the Rhône Valley, this grape dominates plantings in the northern section of the valley. The name Shiraz is commonly used in Australia and certain regions of the New World, particularly those with warmer climates. The stylistic differences between Shiraz and Syrah wines are often distinct, contributing to the enduring dual identities of this grape variety.
