2008 Fuenteseca Reserve Anejo 8 Year Tequila (Jalisco, MX)
The next best thing in aged spirits is here! Vintage spirits are where it’s at and Fuenteseca is our top pick for quality aged tequilas. Enrique Fonseca’s family has been farming agave plants for over 100 years, but he was forced to learn how to be distiller after a top tequila company backed out of a contract. So he went to Scotland to learn the benefits of longer aging in barrels. Enrique now has the largest collection of the oldest tequilas in existence. Fuenteseca was created to showcase his single vintage extra anejos.
This 8 year old tequila was distilled in 2006 in a combination of both a double- copper column still and an alembic pot still. It spent 8 years resting in California red wine barrels and French oak barrels. This bottle has notes of soft red fruit, vanilla, and spice.
