"Ryo-fu" means "cool breeze" in Japanese. The winds that blow through the Russian River Valley help cool off the grapes, giving them a perfect combination of warm sun (for ripeness and fruit) and bright acidity (for freshness and balance). This big Cali Chard is creamy and rich on the palate, with perfectly integrated oak notes of vanilla and butterscotch, orchard and stone fruits, and zippy acidity on a long finish. This is a very good wine, and would pair beautifully with a lobster casserole.
