When Elena Brooks was growing up in Bulgaria, her mother worked at a winery where Elena was helping to interpret tastings by the age of 12. She is now regarded as one of the best winemakers in Australia. At Dandelion Vineyards, ancient vines (many over 100 years old) are grown in ancient soils, giving way to unique and delicious wines. Dark chocolate and dark fruit dominate the nose of this Shiraz, with subtle notes of lavender, peppercorn, and smoked paprika. The palate shows concentrated berry flavors, gripping tannins, and balanced acidity.

    About The Varietal

    Shiraz

Shiraz and Syrah are interchangeable names for the same dark-skinned grape variety when viewed in terms of DNA. Originating in the Rhône Valley, this grape dominates plantings in the northern section of the valley. The name Shiraz is commonly used in Australia and certain regions of the New World, particularly those with warmer climates. The stylistic differences between Shiraz and Syrah wines are often distinct, contributing to the enduring dual identities of this grape variety.
