Hailing from Paolo Bea's highest elevation vineyard (named Cerrete) which sits 450-500 meters above sea level, this incredible wine is a benchmark for both the region and for Sagrantino. Showing aromas of spiced red fruit, warm stones, and wild garrigue, the palate is structured, colossal in power and nuance, with a long, savory finish. 2011 was a very hot year, with yields down 35%, but due to the elevation of the vineyard, this wine still shows remarkable grace, freshness, agility, and texture on the palate. Although 10 years old, this wine will continue to age remarkably.
