The Gattinara winemaking region in Piedmont has a longer history than Barolo. Giancarlo, the grandson of Clemente Travaglini, saw the potential that the Gattinara region had and pioneered innovative growing methods to elevate Nebbiolo in the region.Fourth generation Cinzia Travaglini now runs the estate with her husband Massimo Collauto, chief winemaker. This wine is a blend of grapes from three vineyards and offers aromas and flavors of ripe cherry, smoke, and spice with some earthiness. Pair with lamb and roasted root vegetables.
