Richard is an eminent New Yorker who consolidated a life-long passion for wine in 2000 when he purchased the Palazzone property. In spite of his important professional commitments he finds time to be present at the estate in the significant moments of the “wine year.” He is here to harvest in person and also to decide the wood aging and blending for each vintage.

This is a fantastic Brunello from an outstanding vintage in Tuscany. An expressive nose leaves nothing to be desired; on the palate, this wine is rich and full of pure Sangiovese character: rose, leather, cranberry, raspberry, and orange peel. The tannins are absolutely beautiful. The wine is textured and grippy – in a way that you know will be memorable – and the finish is very satisfying. This wine will age wonderfully: open a bottle tonight, but save the remainder for 2025-2035 and watch this beauty evolve.
