The name Sciaranuova means “new casting” in Sicilian, indicating the recent geological age of the lava flow formed 400 years ago. The wine is deep, broad in complexion, with a note of underbrush. Contrada S finds a floral spiciness slightly supplanting the red fruit and mineral tones.
