A classic Barolo from a benchmark producer, the 2017 "Ravera" from Elvio Cogno is powerful, stern, and very structured. This is a wine that will age for the next 30 years, easily. Aromatically, it shows tar, rose petal, pipe tobacco, leather, and black cherry. On the palate, the wine is precise, with extremely fine-grained tannins that will soften as this wine matures in bottle. We don't care too much about scores, but 98 points from Wine Enthusiast never hurt anyone!
