Region: Monferrato, Piedmont, Italy
Winemaker Lidia Carbonetti and her husband Paolo make tiny amounts of Dolcetto along with Barbera and Cortese, from their small vineyard parcels in Piedmont. This bottling is as "minimal-intervention" as it gets. On the nose, yeasty barnyard notes which continue onto the palate. Bright red fruit on the palate as well, with nicely structured tannins, fresh acidity, and a long finish. It's a very good, albeit funky, red wine.
