Region: Barolo, Langhe, Piedmont, Italy
This light, elegant Barolo comes from a vineyard sandwiched between the winery itself and the 7 hectare truffle (tartufo) forest at the edge of the small estate, home to wild boar. They overlook a stunning view across the flat plains which used to be the sea bed in pre-historic times, with the Alps in the distance. 2015 was a more "accessible" vintage: the wines are expressive at a younger age and they are drinking beautifully, already. Pair with a savory duck dish, or a filet mignon with Bearnaise sauce.
