The 2018 Nicolas-Jay Willamette Valley Pinot Noir is a rich and broad Pinot that walks the line between restraint and opulence. Soft aromas of black cherry, plum, and pomegranate are intertwined with smokey earth and damp, dark soil and dried violets. Acidity comes through nicely with each sip, brightening up the feel of the wine nicely. Fine tannins are apparent as well, adding nice structure to the wine. This is an impressive Pinot, which has significant aging potential and remarkable balance.
