This is Portugal's answer to village-level Burgundy! Luis Seabra is a well-known Portuguese winemaker who is influenced by the Burgundian notion of terroir, and he only uses vineyards planted to schist soils for this wine. Using only indigenous varietals normally used for the production of Port, this light red showcases fresh berry fruit, cranberry, pomegranate, hint of floral blossom, fresh earth & minerality. Tannins are great from whole cluster maceration, which anchors the wine. The finish is long, with a bit of a green note on the mid palate. Fruit forward and delicious!
