The Cortese grapes for this wine are sourced exclusively from a few selected hillside vineyards where families have been producing grapes for generations. Pio Cesare's Gavi is enchanting with its light and lively fruit character. Fresh, juicy yet delicate with notes of salty ripe fruit, bright acid and spiced aromas. Delicious now but this bottle is showing amazing aging potential.

    About The Varietal

    Cortese

Cortese is a white grape variety best recognized for its role in producing the vibrant, lime-scented wines of Gavi. This grape is distinguished by its invigorating acidity and its capacity to maintain its freshness even in warm climates. Cortese wines often feature flavors of apple, peach, and honeydew, complemented by hints of lime, almond, and subtle herbal or grassy notes in their aromas.
