Varietal: Pinot Noir
Region: Marlborough, South Island, New Zealand
Now THIS is a serious Pinot Noir! It drinks like a very well-made Burgundy, with a aromas reminiscent of Chambolle-Musigny and a mouthfeel like Volnay. The fruit is concentrated but well-restrained, and balanced by darker notes of earth and spice. The acidity is zippy and the tannins, are incredibly smooth and persistent. This wine will age nicely for a few more years, at least.
