Truchard is a family-owned winery located at the foothills of the Mayacamas near Carneros. They planted just three acres of the French varietal, Roussanne. This has notes of buttered pears, dried apple pie and winter spices. It's a UG staple!
About The Varietal
Roussanne is a white-wine grape, named for its skin color when ripe, displaying a reddish-gold pigment that corresponds to the French word "roux," signifying "russet" or reddish-brown. Believed to have originated in the northern Rhône Valley, it remains predominantly planted in this region in modern times.
Enjoy with fettuccine alfredo, cream based chowders, lobster rolls or anything fried.
