Hailing from Chicago, these winemakers retired from their first careers, sold their house and cars, and began to make their dream a reality. Instead of food and wine pairings, the winemakers suggest pairing this wine with classical music, hence the name Capriccio Italien (one of Tchaikovsky’s compositions). Flavors of plum, blackberry, black currant, and a touch of anise jump out of the glass, and vanilla and wood spice round out the palate.
About The Varietal
Super Tuscan wines originated in the 60s as an act of rebellion by winemakers frustrated with the rules and labeling terms around local wine production. These wines are blends of Sangiovese and international varietals, such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot, among others.
Enjoy with burgers, meatloaf, chicken thighs, and hearty vegetables.
