The Sandhi label is a collaboration between the wine director for Michael Mina Restaurants, Rajat Parr, and winemaker Sashi Moorman. Together their goal is to create wines that represent the union of "man, earth, and vine," and this old vine California pinot is no exception. A 30% whole bunch fermentation gives this wine a rich depth and intensity despite its weight, and the dark fruit qualities are balanced by a savory element that is an excellent representation both of the region and vintage. This is a wonderful example of a winemaker whose stylistic choices have created a true sense of place in their product.
