A compelling wine from none other than the legendary Leflaive family. Grolleau is normally used for blending and making rosé wine, but this is "the most serious Grolleau I've ever tasted" according to Jancis Robinson. Wild forest fruits, wet earth, and violet flowers abound on the nose, will the palate is sleek, elegant, and very smooth. No fining, no filtration, and of course, biodynamically farmed. This is a natural complement to funky cheeses like Delice de Poitou.

    About The Varietal

    Grolleau

Grolleau, also known as Grolleau Noir, is a red grape variety hailing from France, primarily cultivated in the Loire Valley. The name is associated with the French word 'grolle,' which means 'crow,' reflecting the grape's deep black berries. Grolleau is typically used for producing rosé wines, especially in the Anjou region. These wines are known for their modest alcohol content and relatively high acidity.
