"The 2016 Barbera d'Alba is made with fruit from old vines. It shows an extra dark appearance and thick extraction as a result. This was a cool vintage with soft breezes in the vineyards that helped to safeguard the fruit from disease. The winemaking team was careful to harvest in time without letting the fruit dry on the vine. Barbera tends to show jammy notes very quickly if attention is not paid.
