Our goal is making wines of the utmost quality with a strong identity, personality, and a profound sense of place” - Alejandro Bulgheroni, founder of Bodega Garzón
Tannat, which is native to southwest France, is now considered the national grape of Uruguay. The grapes are grown organically in some of the planet’s oldest soils– the wine’s terroir is defined by the mineral rich soils and the vineyards’ proximity to the Atlantic ocean. Black fruit, tobacco, and dark chocolate jump out of the glass, and white pepper spice lingers on the finish. A great way to try something new and broaden your wine horizon!
About The Varietal
Tannat is a red wine grape with origins in the Basque country, situated on the border between France and Spain. In the rugged terrain near the Pyrenees Mountains, Tannat grape thrives, producing wines that are deep, dark, dry, and rustic, reflecting the challenging environment in which it is cultivated.
Enjoy with charred vegetables, bolognese, or a hearty clam bake.
