A fortuitous series of events brought Ray and Patty Magnussen to El Valle to cross paths with winemaker Cuahtemoc Santana. After falling in love with the property, Ray enrolled at UC Davis to study enology and viticulture, returning to El Valle to begin planting vines. This is a very different Chardonnay that is full bodied but drinks like a Chablis with a sea-salty minerality. Pair it with rich white fish like cod, haddock, and monkfish.
