A multiple time award winning wine from Mexico, Monte Xanic ‘Gran Ricardo’ is an incredible blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc. Aged in french oak barrels, this wine has incredible tannic structure with wonderful spice notes. With high acidity, dark fruit flavors, and notes of tobacco and vanilla, this is a great red blend for any fuller-bodied red drinkers.
About The Varietal
A red Bordeaux blend primarily consists of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc, supplemented by smaller amounts of Malbec and Petit Verdot, with Carmenere occasionally included. While the term naturally applies to red wines from Bordeaux, it is also suitable for wines produced beyond the region, such as those from California, Washington, Argentina, and other locations.
Enjoy with burgers, meatloaf, chicken thighs, and hearty vegetables.
About The Producer
Founded in 1987 by friends Eric, Hans, Manuel, Ricardo, and Tomás, Monte Xanic was established from the dream of creating quality Mexican wines that would highlight the country on the international oenology map. Today, these producers continue to share Mexico's uniqueness and have earned the recognition of the best wine in Mexico. According to the brand, Monte Xanic “is the fruit of [the founders'] friendship, it overcomes storms, moves mountains and reminds us that life is to be enjoyed and shared, just like good wines.”
