Coming from a tiny California winery focused on Spanish varietals, La Marea has the bright lemony acidity and bracing limestone minerality of an old world wine. The Brand family focuses on farming first, tending the solitary, desolate coastal hills of Monterey. They pride themselves in producing polished wines that reflect the wind, sun, and soil of their land.
About The Varietal
This green-skinned grape variety originates from Galicia, situated on the northern Atlantic coast of Spain. It is most famous for being the primary grape variety in the Rias Baixas DO, where it is used to craft fresh, and often, texturally rich white wines featuring notes of peach, citrus, and minerals, making them an ideal accompaniment to the region's seafood.
Enjoy with grilled shrimp, crab salad, grilled scallops, or a cucumber salad.
